The Wet Leaf · Nature Aquarium Systems

Choose a fertilizer, see its recommended schedule, and calculate the nutrients each dose adds to your aquarium.

Chelated iron and chelated micros contain elements such as Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu. EDTA, DTPA and EDDHA are chelating agents—not additional elements. Some products also declare Cl, Ni, Co or other trace elements.

    01 / Your aquarium

Calculate water volume from tank dimensions

For rectangular tanks, use inside measurements and the actual water depth from the tank bottom to the waterline—not the full tank height. Curved and irregular tanks need a separate measured estimate.

    Dimension unit
    Centimetres

Use actual water volume after displacement from substrate, rocks and wood. US gallons are used throughout.

    Manufacturer dosing

The recommended dose and schedule come from each product’s directions. If a label gives a range, choose an option within that range. “As needed” does not imply a fixed weekly count.

    Dry nutrient methods

EI, EI daily, EI light / weekly, PPS-Pro and PMDD are separate from bottle instructions. Preset additions are editable. A single compound calculation is not a complete balanced fertilizer recipe.

    Know what ppm means

ppm is mg/L. Per-dose additions are before plant uptake, water changes, precipitation or adsorption. Weekly additions describe your dosing routine, not a predicted water-test result.

Why are some ppm values unavailable?

Some manufacturers publish percentages by weight without a verified liquid density. That is not enough to calculate nutrient mass per mL. Where supported, weigh the actual liquid dose in Advanced mode. Unknown or undeclared nutrients show a dash, not zero. Match your bottle’s label and region; historical and current formulas may differ.

When will NAS products be added?

NAS V3 with copper, NAS chelated iron and NAS dry micronutrient mixes remain coming soon until exact analyses and product links are confirmed. The dry references let you explore chemistry and methods without claiming an unverified NAS formulation or product range.

Store links are included only for confirmed Wet Leaf products. Dry entries link to Canadian supplier listings; listing does not guarantee current stock, shipping or aquarium suitability. Products with incomplete or conflicting analyses cannot calculate ppm. Checked October 18, 2026.
