About Black Galaxy Pinto Caridina Shrimp Black Galaxy Pinto shrimp are selectively bred Taiwan Bee/Pinto-type Caridina hybrids, admired for contrasting pale spots against dark body colour. Some display fishbone-style dorsal markings, while others have simpler patterns. This listing is for lower-grade shrimp, so spot density, pattern definition and colour coverage vary; premium snowflake or fishbone markings are not guaranteed.
Aquarium Setup & Care Keep these shrimp in a mature, fully cycled aquarium with soft, acidic, low-KH water. Active buffering aquasoil and RO/DI water remineralized with a GH-only Caridina mineral are commonly used. Provide mosses, plants, established biofilm and hiding places, along with sponge filtration or a protected intake. Keep ammonia and nitrite at zero and avoid abrupt changes in temperature or water chemistry.
Feeding & Nutrition Breeding Black Galaxy Pinto Caridina Shrimp Breeding is possible in a mature, stable soft-water aquarium. Females carry eggs that hatch into miniature shrimp, and dense moss and established biofilm support young shrimp. Because Pinto and Galaxy patterns come from selectively bred hybrid lines, offspring may show a wide variety of spotting, stripes and colours. Keep a dedicated colony and select breeders carefully if maintaining a particular pattern is your goal.
Acclimation & Live Shipping Inspect shrimp promptly upon arrival. These soft-water Caridina can be sensitive to differences in temperature, pH and dissolved minerals; careful, gradual acclimation such as drip acclimation is recommended. Avoid abrupt changes. Orders are supported by The Wet Leaf's 100% Live Arrival Guarantee, subject to published terms.
