About Super Crystal Red Caridina Shrimp Super Crystal Red Shrimp are a selectively bred red-and-white bee shrimp variety often selected for rich red pigmentation and reduced or more concentrated white markings compared with classic banded Crystal Reds. Appearance varies by line and individual. This listing is mixed grade, so red coverage, white markings and opacity will differ, and no particular show grade or pattern is guaranteed.
Aquarium Setup & Care Provide a mature, fully cycled aquarium with soft, slightly acidic water and very low KH. Active buffering aquasoil and RO/DI water remineralized with a GH-only shrimp mineral are commonly used. Include mosses, plants, mature biofilm and hiding spaces, and use sponge filtration or a protected intake. Ensure ammonia and nitrite are undetectable. Avoid abrupt parameter changes and copper-based medications.
Feeding & Nutrition Breeding Super Crystal Red Caridina Shrimp Super Crystal Reds can breed in a mature, stable soft-water aquarium. Females carry eggs beneath the abdomen and release fully formed shrimplets, which benefit from dense moss and established biofilm. Because this is a mixed-grade selection, offspring may show different red-and-white patterns. A dedicated colony and careful selection of breeding adults can help maintain preferred traits over generations.
Acclimation & Live Shipping Inspect shrimp promptly upon arrival and acclimate carefully to differences in temperature, pH and dissolved minerals. Gradual acclimation, such as drip acclimation, is commonly used for sensitive soft-water Caridina. Avoid sudden changes. Orders are supported by The Wet Leaf's 100% Live Arrival Guarantee, subject to published terms.
