One of the most coveted woods for aquariums in recent years. Manzanita wood adds a beautiful touch to any aquarium. You can almost just drop it in! Aquascapers love it for its branchy natural look, reddish tones and it's ability to soak up water. Manzanita wood will waterlog quickly, faster than most wood available for aquariums. A very dense wood resistant to decay, it will last for several years in your aquarium. Manzanita wood also releases few tannins, so it won't significantly alter you water chemistry or color your water after the initial soaking period.
To prepare Manzinita wood for your aquarium soak it in bucket or a tub until it sinks usually 3-4 days for the smaller pieces.
